Pennine Domestic Violence Group is a registered charity and Company limited by Guarantee, which provides a range of services for women who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence.
What do we mean by domestic violence?
Domestic violence is emotional, physical or sexual abuse from someone whom you’ve had or are having a relationship with. This can be a husband, partner or a member of our family or family-in-law.
We include being pressurised into a marriage that you do not want as domestic violence. We recognise that domestic violence affects women from all backgrounds, ages, ethnic groups and sexualities.
What about my children?
Your children are welcome in the refuge. We have children’s workers who understand the needs of children and will help them settle in, as well as help you get them into nuseries and schools.
Workers are trained and experienced in dealing with other issues such as health, legal matters, and any other specialist needs you or your children have.
