What is domestic violence and abuse?
Pennine Domestic Violence Group views domestic abuse / violence as a desire for power and control over intimate partners or family members, and takes on many forms including physical, sexual, psychological / emotional or financial abuse.
Domestic abuse crosses all boundaries and occurs in all cultures, classes, sexualities, religions, ages, physical, and mental abilities. This can include Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), forced marriage, and so-called honour crimes.
